la bonté de Dieu

Bonjour à tous (Hello everyone)! Mboté! I hope you all had a good week and made plenty of good memories.

This week we had the chance to have another service du baptême (baptismal service)! I am amazed and astounded by la bonté de Dieu (the goodness of God). Have been in both of the wards here in Mpaka. So, with this baptismal service, I had the occasion to see some of my friends I was teaching in Mpaka 2 get baptized like Sœur La Joie, Frère Ardy, Frère Emmanuel. The best news is there are more to come! Sur notre coté (On our side) we had the honor to baptise Sœur Laurene, Sœur Benecia, Frère Junior, Frère Abraham and Sœur Louise!

Then there was Frère Roman. Frère Roman was someone Elder Matak and I had randomly met at L'Église when I had first arrived. We started teaching him (it was really only 1 lesson) when we realized he was in the Secteur de Mpaka 1 (Elder Morris et Elder Mputu). They've been teaching him ever since. So when I heard he was getting baptized, I was ecstatic! I was absolutely overjoyed when I heard he wanted to have me baptize him! That was an absolute honor!

So as I started, I would like to end with how I am amazed at the goodness of God. Elder Matak and I worked hard but never expected these kinds of miracles. We knew however He, our Heavenly Father, could do them. Now, here we are Mpaka 2 est fort et they are progressing (Mpaka 2 is strong and they are progressing); a garden of flowering sprouts with faith in Jesus Christ. Mpaka 1 is right there as well: the seeds have been planted, now it is time to harvest.

This week I had a real impression that Jesus is the Christ. I know grâce a Lui les mondes sont fondés et créés (thanks to Him, that worlds are founded and created). I know He lives perfectly and loves perfectly so we can do the same. He is the Savior et le Rédempteur du monde (and the Redeemer of the world).

Have faith in Him. In His infinite atonement, you will see God work miracles in your life!

Avec amour (With love), Elder Habel

Charity is Patient

Bonjour tout le monde (Hello everybody)! I hope each of you had a good and edifying week!

This week we had "un consiel de zone" (zone meeting), un service du baptême et une activité de la paroisse (a baptismal service and a ward activity)! They were all a blast, and I'm very grateful for the fun and edifying experiences I had at each event! I really am amazed that I've been able to serve in both of the wards: Mpaka 1 et Mpaka 2! I have grown to love these people, greatly and deeply! Truly the Lord has created yet another ward family!

Nos amis qui étaient baptisé s'apellent Frère Grâce, Frère Genèse, Sœur Charvie, Sœur Rebecca, Frère Emerson et Frère Bravene (Our baptized friends are called Brother Grace, Brother Genesis, Sister Charvie, Sister Rebecca, Brother Emerson and Brother Bravenel)! It was really cool because I knew and had the special oppurtunity to teach every single ami là (friend)!

One of the many miracles from this week was when Sœur Charvie arrived right before her baptism...and I mean like right before.

Sœur Charvie lives far away from the church, to begin with. We told her the baptism would start at 10....until the morning of the baptism we were told it would start at 8! To test my patience their phone didn't start working until 8:45.

😐😑😐 (I hope I captured the pained blinking expression I was going for).

After waiting for a while we all decided we would start the baptism. It was 9:30 and there was still no sign of them getting there soon.

But my collègue said we needed to wait till 10. Charity is patient. I learned that during this experience.

It reached 10. Still no sign of them. We started the baptism. Heavenly Father loves His children. I decided to make one last desperate call, dreading the almost predestined "Désolé mais votre correspondant n'est pas disponible" ("Sorry but your caller is not available").

Miracle 1) The phone worked
Miracle 2) Her sister answered
Miracle 3) They walked right through the door and straight to us.

Sœur Charvie quickly got dressed and looked like an angel in white. After being baptized and confirmed she started speaking their language.

So all in all this week was good and every moment of my life confirmed to me God is in control.

He is in control; I witness of that, and I testify to you He wants to help you control yours.

I love you all deeply and I hope humbly as well.

Love, Elder Habel

Je vous aime tous

Mboté tout le monde! J'espère que vous avez tous eu un bon dimanche et un bon weekend aussi (Hope you all had a good Sunday and a great weekend too)!

This week we got to see a lot of puppies (chiots), kittens (chattons)and miracles! Our friends are progressing nicely grâce à sa main puissant (thanks to His mighty hand)! These people are honestly so amazing. They are pioneers despite l'adversité qu'il affrontent (the adversity they face)

A cool story. Sœur (Sister) Helena

We didn't have her number but she somehow found le notre (ours). She called us one morning desperately wanting to meet with us. We met with her. She told us elle avait besoin de l'orientation de Dieu dans sa vie (she needed guidance from God in her life). Wow! Dieu prépare ses enfants (God is preparing his children). Il la nous amenée (He brought her to us)! L'Évangile rétabli est le moyen que Dieu (The restored gospel is the way God) uses to orient us. So, all in all, she ate up what we gave her and we planned to see each other in 2 days.

But the story gets even better.

Right after we taught her my companion a reçu la révélation qu'on devait lui ensiegner une certaine leçon (received the revelation that she had to be taught a certain lesson)! Two days later we taught her this lesson. Avec étonnement elle nous 11a dit (With astonishment she told us):
"Je vous crois. J'avais les rêves pendant le soir hier à propos de ces choses mais je ne savait pas leur signification et j n'en comprenais pas. Je me demandais pourquoi ces rêves. Mais maintenant j'en comprends. Je comprends la vérité." ("I believe you. I had dreams last night about these things but didn't know their meaning and didn't understand. I wondered why these dreams. But now I understand. I understand the truth.")

Sœur Helena is very courageous. The Lord is very good and merciful. Elle connait la joie de la rédemption (She knows the joy of redemption)

And that's why I love this life. We can all know joy and eternal life grâce à Jésus Christ et la bonté de notre Dieu (eternal life thanks to Jesus Christ and the goodness of our God). It's there for the taking.

Je vous aime tous (I love you all)

À Dieu (To God), Elder Habel
