A Frankenstein Chair, A Haircut, and A Fashion Show

Bonjour, Mboté, and hello to each and every one of you!

Kolélé? How are you doing?

Bien quoi! Doing good I sure do hope!

This week was one for the record books! We had miracles, we had power outages, we even had a Frankenstein chair! Don't leave out the fact I finally got a haircut and that Elder Kabala had a French-style fashion runway show!

What made this week so special was the power of prayer and our loving Heavenly Father. We were able to invite two of our friends to follow The Savior and be baptized on the 17 of April: Fr. Willy and Fr. Loza! Fr. Loza was feeling a little nervous about being baptized so, what did Heavenly Father do? Oh, He just sent 2 of His studs, Président Arcy and Fr. Mardoché to go and become his friends and be his examples of overcoming fear! Then, what made it all even better was when Heavenly Father poured out blessings upon our heads when Fr. Loza, Fr Willy, and a ton of unexpected friends come to church! Heavenly Father loves us and He answers our prayers! He wants to do so for you in every moment! Have faith, hope, charity, and humility all centered on Christ! The miracles will come!

Speaking of miracles, I have to give a shout-out to our mission this month. We all have worked really hard this month and the Lord blessed us to be His instruments! We helped 128 children of our Heavenly Father make covenants with Him and to their Savior Jésus Christ!

To close I would like to just remind each and every one of you and testify to you that Jésus Christ lives, He is worthy of faith as our Savior, Redeemer, and our Healer. Come unto Him by acting upon your faith, hope, and charity in Him! I hope you each have the chance to feel His presence in your life!

"No none at all...just a tiny bit!"

Bonjour bonjour bonjour!

How are you all doing? It's good to talk to you again! As you know I hope deeply that you are happy, safe, and in good health!

This week we had:

1)  zone conference (with matching ties and dresses; shout out to unity)!
2) a run-in with a good old friend called Malaria.
3) An epic baptismal service for our friends which was full of miracles and joy!

Sure, was it easy being sick? No. Did the Lord answer my prayers and help me get better? Yes!

One epic sequence from the hospital:
"So you're saying I have malaria?"
"No none at all...just a tiny bit!"
"Wait, so I do or I don't?"
Feel free to repeat those 3 phrases 3 or 5 times with an ever-mounting level of confusion and hysteria and you'll get the gist of our conversation. It was pretty funny and thankfully the Lord sent another doctor in who reminded the other one that I'm a "Mundelé" thus a little bit is something we have to take care of haha.

In a more spiritual sense this week I learned patience and forgiveness are the best ways to express the mercy and love of the Savoir. Yes, it is difficult but like with all things that concern Christ the blessings far outweigh the price!

I invite you, each of you to come unto Christ this week (Moroni 10:32-33). He will take your pains, sufferings, and sins and turn them into exalting balms of His love and mercy! Have a good week and enjoy the pictures!  I truly am grateful to each of you and the essential role you each have played in my life! Remember to love God, your neighbor, and yourself!

Love, Elder Habel

Challenge and Reward

This week was...

so

amazingly

challenging and yet awarding!

Why you might ask?

Challenging? Because our neighbors have been mourning the loss of their loved ones by blasting crazy boonie music starting from 10 pm just till 5:30 in the morning!

Awarding? Because the children of Sr. Corinne (Sr. Brellvie, Sr. Laurelle and Fr. Messi), Sr. Dieuveil, Sr. Nzounzi, Sr. Céleste, and Sr. Mariana are all ready for their baptism this next Saturday!

We had baptismal interviews with Elder Neilsen out in the boonies, we ate curry with them, we were able to go and help at the wedding of Fr. Juste in our ward, and...(big breath) we were able to have a stellar activity out in Kintelé with our zone! We played basketball and were able to explore the stadium that's straight out of "I am Legend"!  All in all the lesson I learned this week is, the Lord is with us in our afflictions. The grace of His infinitely loving Atonement for our sins and suffering is real! We must always keep up the shield of our faith in Jesus Christ so we "protect ourselves from the dragon's fire" and temptation! Truly the Spirit will "fight with us" as we exercise our faith in Christ the Lord! He is the Healer and the Deliver! May we always call on His protection in times of need!

I hope you each have a fantastic week and come unto Christ by having faith, hope, and charity in Him!

Love, Elder Habel
