Under Construction

This was a good week.

Why you might ask.

It was a good week because of Him. We accomplished our objectives to lead others unto Him in a caring and loving manner. We avoided the rain and then walked under it. We saw lives change and happiness grow. Justice will be served by Him who is just, perfect, and merciful.

But that's enough about me! I hope you had a happy and good week full of experiences that will be engraved in your memory forever!

I've had to chance to teach a couple of English courses. By the divine aid of prayer with Heavenly Father, He helped me teach! We had fun and we learned a lot each time!

I also went with Elder Mayangi to his area! What a powerful missionary to go with to teach in some powerfully peaceful settings! I am very thankful I have had the occasion to meet this lion of a missionary!

We also had a baptismal service for Sr. Idalvie which was quite miraculous by divine intervention & by the hand of God in answer to our prayers. We called her during the morning and she said the baptism wouldn't be possible because she was feeling grossly sick. Thus we departed a little disappointed but nevertheless motivated by faith in Christ to continue. It was at this moment our first meetings also canceled on us and it seemed like our prayer that Idalvie would be ready to be baptized was starting to infect even our prayers for helping others to come unto Christ! But we held firm. To our faith. In Christ. With patience and hope surpassing that which I thought I had, we returned to the ward building. There they were, ward members still preparing for the baptism. Oof. But then, as we held strong with patience and faith in Christ, a miraculous turn of events took place. Sr. Idalvie's brother decided to give it a second chance, and called and talked to her. In a remarkably simple yet powerfully profound and touching way, she came.

She felt better.

AND

She was baptized.

Our prayers were answered!

So the lesson is to keep praying to Heavenly Father. With patience. With hope. Hope comes from a firm assurance even faith that God keeps His promises. I testify to you He does. He does so perfectly.

I was even able to see the baptism of Sr. Felone, Angelvie et Angelica, and Idelcia! The feeling of peace has stayed at Makelekele. I am profoundly honored by this perseverance.

As you can tell this week was once again touched by His hands. I know He lives and I cherish this truth. I hope you each find Him, Jesus Christ. I pray you each get to know Him better each day!

He wants to help and He loves you!

Passez une bonne semaine! (Have a good week!)

Clouds

Bonjour! Mboté and hello! Greetings to all who have been brave enough to read the endless whirlpool of Elder Habel's weekly adventure letter!

This week we celebrated Easter. I am grateful for my resurrected Savior! I testify that He lives. He lives to give us joy! I know by personal experience that, yes, His Atoning sacrifice is real. I have felt His protection, His love, His mercy, and His healing and exalting power change me every day. I am a humble witness that because He conquered death, sin, and pain we can all live again as resurrected, perfected, and immortal beings in the perfect joy filling presence of our Heavenly Father as eternal families. He has transformed me and many of the dear people I love.

I testify He can work miracles in you and your life and in the life of your family. May we always remember Him and become like Him by His grace and our faith in Him.

This week my new companion Elder Kadiata and I helped the children of God come unto Christ. While we were doing so we casually climbed a mountain with supplies brought to us by a miraculous mother, we were blessed to see many cute little animals and many cool clouds! God is good. He is loving. He is kind.

I hope you each are happy, safe, and in good spirits! May we follow the Prophet and bring others unto Christ (Moroni 10:33-34)

Avec amour (With love) Elder Habel!

A New Zone

Well, mboté everyone! I hope you are each having some amazing spiritually thrilling and edifying experiences every moment in your life! This week we had a run-in with...

A puppy, a cat, a chicken, a bird, and some wonderful souls in Nzoko!

Above all the most unexpected adventure was this here: I got transferred! I am going to open a new "Frankenstein" zone. Why Frankenstein? Because he's my American companion who's gonna help me! I will admit it has been a little strange. He tends "to lose his mind" now and again.

Bad dap doosh! *cymbals crashing together. Eder Habel laughs but everyone stays absolutely silent looking at him as if it was he who had lost his mind*

So maybe my career in comedy is doomed. I'll keep working on it!

But it is true that we are creating a new zone. We are taking secteurs from 2 other zones to make this one, hence the "Frankenstein" zone! This was a Sunday full of smiles and tears! I truly love this ward! They will always hold a place in my heart! I will miss them all, but I am excited to open up my heart to the souls of Mfilou 2! I will miss Elder Konan, but  I am excited to work with Elder Kadiata!

This week my testimony of Christ was deepened by reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. One of the reasons the scriptures (especially the Book of Mormon) were written by prophets of God is that they are to help and persuade us to always remember Christ (1 Nephi 19:18). I promise you that if you study the scriptures (most importantly the Book of Mormon) you will have continually increasing faith, hope, and charity. You will feel the delivering and protecting presence of Christ in your life and you will have increased joy as you will know with certitude that Jesus is the Resurrected Christ!

I love each of you deeply and I testify He loves you perfectly! Have a great week!
